About the Northwest Horticultural Society
Our mission is to provide a forum for gardeners and plant lovers in the Pacific Northwest to share their interests and learn about horticulture.
NHS provides inspiration and education to the Northwest gardening community through an ongoing series of webinars, lectures, symposiums, workshops, classes, garden tours, and educational travel opportunities.
NHS supports horticultural education offering scholarships to students in urban horticulture at the University of Washington and to students in horticulture programs at three Community Colleges. The Society is a major financial supporter of the Elisabeth C. Miller Library at the Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle, a significant educational resource for the academic and gardening community. NHS also provides grants to community-focused non-profits for projects of theirs in alignment with our mission to educate and enhance the practice and appreciation of horticulture in the Pacific Northwest. NHS promotes the propagation and cultivation of a diversity of plant material for the Northwest.
