Are you ready for Plant Nerd Night! NHS is hosting its fourth Plant Nerd Night and it is going to be a blast! The fun filled evening features choice plants from five of the Northwest’s premier nurseries. Richie Steffen, Director/Curator of the Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden, will be the emcee for the evening providing lively and entertaining commentary of the new, rare and choice plants with the help of our participating nurseries.

2017 Plant Nerd Night Nurseries

Far Reaches Farm, Port Townsend
Kelly Dodson and Sue Milliken are collectors, propagators, growers and the ultimate Plant Nerds. The driving force for their amazing nursery is to have fun while growing as many intriguing plants as possible in the most environmentally responsible manner while contributing to advancing botanical knowledge. This will be your opportunity to hear about and purchase many of their favorite treasures.

Log House Plants, Cottage Grove OR
Alice Doyle, an iconic plant nerd, will be telling us about her current favorites. Log House Plants is a wholesale nursery specializing in edible and ornamental plants that thrive in the Pacific Northwest. Over the past forty years, Log House Plants has earned a reputation for excellence and innovation. They have a full line of tasty and handsome herbs; vegetables galore, from treasured heirloom varieties to the newest All-America selections; tempting tropicals; and hundreds of varieties of uncommon annual and perennial flowers.

Sundquist Nursery, Poulsbo
Nils Sundquist’s nursery is the outgrowth of his lifetime love of plants and gardening. His nursery has an extensive collection of ferns, epimediums and hostas as well as cutting edge perennials that he has selected with a discerning eye. This small independent wholesale nursery is one of the plant gems of our region and is known for their high quality standards.

T&L Nursery, Redmond
A rare chance to buy from one of our premier Northwest wholesale growers. T&L is a grower of perennials and annuals, serving the Washington and Oregon areas for over 30 years. The nursery spans over 45 acres, and specializes in growing container plants. See what is new at their nursery and buy some of their new selections.

Windcliff Plants, Indianola
Windcliff Plants represents the plants from Dan Hinkley’s collecting trips. He has the luxury of propagating only those plants that he feels deserve greater recognition in gardens of North America. The plants are part of his own collection work with their provenance and collection numbers in the plant description. Hear about Dan’s current favorites and take home some of the gems he is bringing to the sale.
